Stormy Monday

Tuesdays just as bad, Wednesday's worst and Thursday's O so sad, Eagle flies on FRIDAY and Saturday I go out to play, on Sunday I go to church and kneel down to pray.... Just watched Crazy Heart, academy award winning performance by Jeff Bridges, a man worn down by life with some musical influence from T Bone Walker. Admit I was not that familiar with Ts music. Glad I have been introduced to it, Lord have Mercy on me...

  1. T-Bone and Stormy Monday - a true blues classic...

...dig his deft touch of the strings, quite sweet...

Allman's did a great version on the Fillmore Live album...that is also worth a listen...I'll listen to the rest of the renditions after my ride...

  2. Correction for the record. The movie Crazy Heart actually involved T Bone "Burnett"

...classic Albert King - he's old in this video, but, i've heard those lines and variations on them since i was in high school...try the album "In a Phone Booth", baby - "I see your number written on the wall"

...but, who the hell is Gary Moore - dude has some chops, never heard of him...amazing...

  4. ...Dianne Reeves & David Peaston

...now that was a fine sax solo by david sanborn...

but, let's make this perfectly clear, of the suite of Stormy Monday's posted by FE, undoubtedly, the most creative improvisations by Dianne and David...to use their vocal abilities in this, so natural and creative manner...after the first chorus, they go further and further out there - every bit as worthy of a great coltrane or dolphy solo...absolutely beautiful...Diane Reeves I know, but the David Peaston, never heard of him - wow, fucking wow - what a voice...thanks for making my day FE
