I am off to Paris this afternoon for two weeks. Last minute bidness trip.
Got a love txt from CO this morning - flight delayed 4 hours. Airport workers on strike at CDG delaying outbound international flights. Of course they still want you at the airport on time.

I'll be staying near the Arch d' Triumph, but will be in meetings at La Defence

I'm Depressed.
ReplyDeleteYou get paid for this!
...for the last 30 years
ReplyDeleteEven Wes will get depressed. If he spends too much time at La Defence.
ReplyDelete...so true,
ReplyDeleteI'm concerned about more pain the gain. In the short term anyway. Next weekend should be sweet. The Montmarte Sat. and St Sulpice Sun.
I am in the CO lounge. Supposed to board in about 10 minutes.
No architectural pun intended (Eddie!). IMHO La Defense is "cool" for lack of more apt description. Actually "cool" fits the bill perfectly. While some of it is fascinating with that unique French-sense-for-grandeur from the outside, the inside is a different story altogether. The inside is essentially just there to offer a poor excuse for the outside's existence. No or very poor functioning climate control whatsoever. I've been there a bunch of times too many, sometimes for days in a row. It's in places like la Defense where I enjoy a distinct competetive edge over the enemy, as I bring extensive hands-on experience with depression to the table. Did you pack some Prozac, Wes? :)
ReplyDeleteParis is my favorite place in the world, and I always thought that La Defence was an extremely odd design in that warm and emotionally evocative city. Wes, go eat at L'As du Fallafel on Rue des Rosiers. Terrific.
